During the process of patent application the author discovered a whole history of documented memory systems. In Greece , an unknown author wrote the thesis AD Herrenium which probably preceded Aristotle's De Memoria Remiscentia (384-322 BC). Approximately 150yrs later Cicero wrote De Oratore (106-143BC) in what is the last piece of this nature from the Hellinistic era. Robert Llul 1235-1316 is the first documented in mediaval times with linking mnemonics and meditation in the first modern association between memory training with religion and the occult. Thomas Acquinas followed in the same vain with Summa Theologica in the late 14th century. Acquinas was to inspire Matteo Ricci, a Jesuit priest who exported the technology to China 1583-1596; whilst Giordano Bruno ,(1581-1591) an excommunicated, heretic, dominican friar was burnt at the stake four hundred years ago after completing his exposition, The Shadow of Ideas, in which he developed De Umbris Idearum, which is uncannily similar to the Memabaxtm system in its use of images to represent 2 letter combinations and concentric memory wheels. Acquinas may have inspired L'idea del Theatro by Guilio Camillo 1480-1544 who created a memory theatre whcih was then believed to have inspired by the occultists John Dee and Robert Fludd, in the architect of William Shakespeare's, Globe theatre. They may have equally been other examples of convergent thinking in the past. Stanislaus Mink Von Wannheim , Dr Richard Grey in the eighteenth century and most recently work by Dr Bruno Furst, Kevin Trudeau and Tony Buzan .have developed phonetic mnemonic systems but these have lacked the power of the old systems.
